Armstrong Boys Basketball Ready for Season with New Head Coach
The Armstrong boys basketball team is ready for the 2021-22 season with a new head coach leading the way.
Robert Ware takes over for Jon Bryant, who resigned at the end of last season.
Ware has been a head coach at Totino-Grace and Maranatha Christian Academy and is also a principal at Armstrong.
He played his high school basketball at Brooklyn Center.
The Falcons graduate their top two scorers from last season’s 12-8 team, but there is some talent returning.
Senior Peyton Newbern and his brother Seth, a sophomore, will be counted on a lot this season.
Junior Owen Skram is a pure shooter.
Senior Payton Mogire, a transfer from Maple Grove, provides size and skill inside.
The Falcons will be tested right away.
They open the season at Shakopee next Wednesday. The Sabers were a state semifinalist last season.
