Armstrong Boys Basketball Falls Short at Edina in Section 6AAAA Quarterfinal
The Armstrong boys basketball team led for the first 28 minutes of their Section 6AAAA quarterfinal matchup at Edina, but couldn’t hold on as the Hornets stormed back to defeat the Falcons, 56-52.
On Armstrong’s first offensive possession of the game, Seth Newbern sparked the Falcons with a dunk over the top of 6’8″ Daniel Molhoek.
Armstrong took a five-point lead into halftime, but the Hornets got the lead with eight minutes left to play second half and never looked back.
Desmond Ware was the only Falcon that scored in double-figures with 13 points.
Josiah Coleman put up a game-high 16 points for the Hornets.
Armstrong finishes their year with a 14-13 record.
Edina will face top-seeded Wayzata in the 6AAAA semifinals Friday night.
