Armstrong Boys Basketball Beats Cooper for First Win
The Armstrong boys basketball team got in the win column for the first time this season by beating Robbinsdale district rival Cooper 69-63 Saturday afternoon.
Cooper led by one point at halftime.
After Armstrong built a double-figure lead in the second half, Cooper battled back to tie the score 57-57.
The Falcons made some key plays down the stretch to get the win.
Senior guard Desmond Ware was outstanding, scoring 34 points to lead the Falcons. Alex Olson added 15 for Armstrong.
Anthony Byrd had 14 off the bench to lead Cooper, with Yusef Hussein and Noah Butler scoring 11 each.
Both teams are now 1-4.
