A Homecoming for Paige Bueckers
One of the most celebrated prep athletes in recent state history came home Sunday– if only for a day.
2020 Hopkins graduate Paige Bueckers and her University of Connecticut women’s basketball teammates defeated the University of Minnesota 62-44 at Williams Arena.
Bueckers, a high school and collegiate All-American, scored 12 points with eight rebounds and four assists for the Huskies.
Bueckers also played in Minneapolis for UConn in the 2022 Women’s Final Four. She missed all last season with an ACL injury.
Over 10,000 fans attended Sunday’s game, many to watch Bueckers.
Current Gophers players included Bueckers’ former Hopkins teammate Amaya Battle and Wayzata’s Mara Braun, both sophomores.
