# 2 Minnetonka Knocks Off # 1 Hopkins in Girls Basketball
Lanelle Wright’s basket and free throw with 10 seconds left lifted the Minnetonka girls basketball team to a 64-61 win over Hopkins in the regular season finale for both teams.
Minnetonka entered the game ranked second in the state in Class 4A, right behind top-ranked Hopkins.
Hopkins guard Liv McGill’s basket seconds earlier had given the Royals their only lead of the night at 61-59. McGill led all scorers with 28 points, 22 in the second half.
Aaliyah Crump led the Skippers with 23 points while Wright added 20.
Hopkins enters the playoffs as the top seed in Section 6AAAA and a 23-3 record. Minnetonka is now 24-2.
