Wuollet Bakery Makes 40,000th Gingerbread House
Wuollet Bakery created its 40,000th gingerbread house in a special event on Tuesday in Edina. The bakery has five locations in the Twin Cities, including one in downtown Robbinsdale.
Each gingerbread house is labor intensive. The bakery still uses the same recipe they used in 1944.
Audrey Malone is an artisan baker and a third-generation member of the Wuollet family.
“There was a lot of excitement gathered at my grandparent’s house with the whole Wuolett family,” remembers Malone. “My grandpa would come in, with the gingerbread house and we’d gather around and bust it up and eat away.”
