Whiz Bang Days Celebrates Growth of Robbinsdale Lions
Thursday marked the beginning of Robbinsdale’s annual Whiz Bang Days celebration, which is now in its 77th year.
“We are so excited,” said Courtney Kirkeeng, a Robbinsdale Lions Club board member. “We are over the top excited for this event that I believe just highlights this beautiful community, people coming together to celebrate all things Robbinsdale.”
The Robbinsdale Lions Club is a big part of the weekend festivities. The group hosts a “Bistro on Broadway” at Wicked Wort Brewing with hot dogs, brats and burgers grilled by Robbinsdale Lions Club members (with food provided by Hackenmueller Meats).

The Bistro on Broadway lets folks enjoy Hackenmuller’s hot dogs, brats and burgers grilled by
the Robbinsdale Lions Club. Food is served on the Wicked Wort patio.
“I joined the Robbinsdale Lions Club last fall and since then, we have grown 18 new members,” said Kirkeeng. “Actually, we had three different volunteers yesterday who are non-Lions who are going to join. So, we’re continuing to grow. We’re running off of this momentum and just really embracing the community and connection that we have in the city.”
In addition to the Bistro on Broadway, other events include bingo, live music, a craft market, a parade and a fireworks celebration Sunday evening at 10 p.m.
