Week in Review: How the George Floyd Death Impacted the Suburbs

The George Floyd’s death while in the custody of  Minneapolis police had a ripple effect on the northwest suburbs.

Roughly 200 people took part in a family friendly memorial walk for George Floyd Wednesday evening at Plymouth Creek Park.

Families visited the memorial site, saying it was important to show support and pay respects. Churches, civic groups and everyday people raised money and goods for the people and businesses affected by the riots. Local police came together to talk about their procedures and desire to connect with the community. People also planned memorials and moments of silence to remember George Floyd.
