Wayzata Students’ Teens on the Go to Give Away Free Masks on Sunday
Teens on the Go, a local youth program made up of Wayzata district students, plans to give away free face masks for small businesses and essential workers on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Plymouth Grand 15. The group says the disposable face masks have been donated by local Chinese-Americans.
“Basically, if you are a small business, you can sign up to get masks on our social media platforms. Then, you can come on Sunday and pick up your masks,” said Kimberly Lan, who is a student at Wayzata High School. “We just want to keep people safe.”
The masks came from donations from the Chinese community and two donors in particular, Professor Jianping Wang from the University of Minnesota and Mr. Wayne Zhou from Woodbury.
“We want to make sure the community is safe when it opens up and we want to help small businesses because they don’t have a lot of the materials,” said Lan.
The group asks if you can fill out this form to let them know you are coming.
One person can pick up one to two bags of masks unless noted otherwise. One bag contains 10 disposable masks.
