Wayzata Schools Requires Masks in Buildings, But Not at Recess
The Wayzata School Board approved mitigation strategies at its board meeting this week, and that includes masks for every person in school buildings during routine school hours.
This decision comes after hearing from hundreds of community members regarding whether or not to require masks. The topic has been emotional and divisive.
The updated plan says masks will not be required outside at recess, for after school sports or for P.E.
Students will be required to wear masks on school buses, as mandated by federal law.
The school district will further monitor COVID-19 numbers to determine how to change the policy.
