Wayzata School Board Results: Johansen, Kader, Sohoni Finish on Top
In the race for three seats on the Wayzata School Board, incumbent Sarah Johansen, Heidi Kader and Milind Sohoni came out at the top of the field of 12 candidates.
The race for three seats on the Wayzata School Board has been a passionate one for candidates, who have firm stances on whether mask mandates should be enforced in schools. Filing to run for office followed a series of lengthy school board meetings where the public also weighed in on whether or not to wear masks.
Out of the field of 12 people who filed to run for the seats, Sarah Johansen is the only one running for re-election. Andrea Cuene and Chris McCullough chose not to run for re-election.
Johansen finished with 6,125 votes, or 17 percent of the total. Heidi Kader finished with 5,632, or 16 percent of the votes. Milind Sohoni finished with 4,809 votes, or 13 percent.
Nick DeVries, Erin Shelton and Brian Kubes also finished with more than 4,000 votes each.
The candidates running for office were Nick DeVries, Aaron Herzberg, Justin Hibbits, Sarah Johansen, Heidi Kader, Bryan Kubes, Muthu Periakaruppan, Derek Plymate, Daniel Sellers, Erin Shelton, Mariam Siddiqui, and Milind Sohoni.
