Water Main Break in Golden Valley Shuts Down Gearty Park Skating Rinks
Golden Valley city staff say a water main break before midnight on Monday night caused significant damage to two ice rinks in Gearty Park. Staff remain hopeful that they will be able to get both rinks back in skating condition this season.
The City is repairing the water main in front of 3138 Regent Ave N.

One neighbor came outside Wednesday to discover the rinks were closed until further notice.
“I came out to skate before taking the dog out and I see I wouldn’t have been able to anyways,” said John Niedenfuer.
