Union Workers Rally for Justice at Brooklyn Center Site
Local union members joined in solidarity in Brooklyn Center Friday morning demanding justice for Daunte Wright.
“As a labor movement, we are very diverse. We have members from every walk of life,” said Alfreda Daniels Juasemai of the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation. “And we believe it’s important to stand up for what’s right for all of our members beyond just contracts. We stand up for justice. We stand up for equality.”
Union members representing nurses, educators, electrical workers, and service employees, gathered outside of Brooklyn Center High School for a news conference Friday morning.
The group wanted to highlight some of the work they’ve done in Brooklyn Center this week, while also urging state lawmakers to pass laws supporting racial justice.
