Two Juveniles Dead, Three Injured After Robbinsdale Police Pursue Stolen Car
Two juveniles are dead and three injured after a car chase that involved Robbinsdale police. Officers tried to stop a vehicle that was reported to be carjacked on Wednesday night. The chase started near County Road 81 and Abbott Avenue in Robbinsdale and ended in northeast Minneapolis.
Robbinsdale police say they spotted the stolen vehicle just after 2 a.m. on Thursday. They tried to pull the car over, but that started a chase.
The chase ended in Minneapolis at the intersection of Lowry Ave. and Hayes St. NW. The car crashed and the impact of the crash split the vehicle in half.
Police say five juveniles were in the stolen SUV. One was pronounced dead at the scene and another later died at the hospital. The other three were hurt with substantial, but non-life threatening injuries.
Robbinsdale police are working with State Patrol to reconstruct the scene and investigate what happened.
