Topgolf Opens to Hearty Golfers, Embraces Single-Digit Cold
The temperature on Tuesday may have been too extreme for local school districts, but hardcore golf enthusiasts would not be deterred.
The bays at Topgolf in Brooklyn Center were busy with people launching golf balls toward the snow-covered targets.
“I think it speaks a lot about Minnesotans in general, right,” said Jordan Campbell, operations manager at the Brooklyn Center Topgolf. “Just a very unique, wonderful group of people who are willing to brave the cold no matter what.”
The temperature Tuesday afternoon was in the low single digits, but the venue has several heat lamps in each bay that help add an extra 20 degrees of warmth to the gameplay experience.

And as any true Minnesotan can attest, cold weather isn’t that bad if you dress appropriately
“I have like, four different layers — pants, socks, shirts, so yeah it’s not too bad,” said Eric Raymond, a Topgolf customer from Roseville.
Topgolf usually opens at 9 a.m., but the venue opened two hours later than normal on Tuesday due to the windchill advisory. Staff members encourage people to check out the Topgolf website or app for the most up-to-date information on what time they open during cold weather.
