Three Teachers Named Semifinalists for Teacher of the Year
Education Minnesota’s Teacher of the Year candidates have been narrowed down to 25 semifinalists. There were 75 candidates in the initial field, including several candidates from the northwest suburbs.
Three semifinalists teach in local schools.
- France Roberts, first-grade teacher at Meadow Ridge Elementary in Wayzata District
- Jessica Stewart, social studies teacher from Osseo Senior High in the Osseo District
- Jamie Weisz, special education teacher from Champlin Park High School in the Anoka-Hennepin District
What happens next?
Education Minnesota says a panel will review the semifinalists’ portfolios and video submissions. In late March, they will select 10 finalists.
The ceremony to select the winner has been postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
