Three Rivers Park District Works To Fill Winter Job Openings
The temperature may be getting cooler outside, but the push to hire seasonal employees for winter recreation at Elm Creek Park Reserve is heating up.
“Yeah, hard to believe, but we are gearing up for our winter season,” said Mike Tracy, HR Manager for the Three Rivers Park District. “So that means here at Elm Creek, we’re looking for a lot of staff. We’re looking for a couple hundred seasonals to help us deliver great winter recreation services again.”
The winter recreation season at Elm Creek Park is still a couple months away, but the Three Rivers Park District is looking for people to do things like operate the lift, the tubing hill, and handle other customer service needs.
Hiring has been a challenge ever since COVID, but Three Rivers has increased wages to remain competitive, they’re offering referral bonuses for current employees and they have flexible scheduling.
“If you’re just looking for one day a week, we’ll take that,” Tracy said. “If you’re looking for 40 hours a week, we’ll take that as well too. So it is a really good job if you’re looking for flexibility and just a place to get out and have some fun.”
Most of the people they hire are high school and college-aged, but they also encourage retirees and anyone looking for supplemental income to apply.
