Three File for Vacant Brooklyn Park West District Seat
Three candidates have filed to fill a vacant Brooklyn Park city council seat. The West District seat was previously held by Susan Pha, who was elected to serve in the state senate.
The deadline to file was Feb. 28, and three candidates filed to run. They are Tony McGarvey, Daniel Goba, and Yelena Kurdyumova.
The special primary election will be on May 9 and the two top candidates will proceed to a special election on Aug. 8.
The person elected will fill the remainder of the term, which runs through 2024.
