Sweet Potato Comfort Pie Offers ‘Tea Circles’
The Sweet Potato Comfort Pie organization is in the middle of a series of events focused on healing called “Tea Circles.”
Keiona Cook, founder of a nonprofit called Lovely’s Sewing and Arts Collective, will help facilitate the next virtual tea on June 22.
“We’ll see where there’s different lights around the Twin Cities doing amazing work, but also uplifting energy,” said Cook.
Cook will also talk about her work teaching youth sewing skills. It’s a skill she says calls ‘essential.’
“We will be talking about a lot of the amazing art around sewing. During the pandemic, I sewed more than 3,000 masks. Over this tea, we’ll be talking about quilt making and I’ll be sharing my quilts,” explained Cook.
The theme of the virtual tea on June 22 us “Uplift” and the theme on June 29 is “Exhale.” To learn more, click here.
