Submissions Open for Future Name of Plymouth’s County Road 47
Plymouth took over ownership of County Road 47 last fall and is now asking the public for suggestions as to what it should be named.
You can submit suggestions on the city’s website or social media pages from now until March 31. A winner will be named at the Plymouth State of the City address on April 23.
County Road 47 was constructed as a farm road, but there are subdivisions and even an elementary school along the road now. The entire corridor will be reconstructed in three phases over multiple years, based on funding.
The city has fully funded the first phase of improvements and has advocated for $20-million in state bonding funds to help make future safety improvements. The first phase of improvements would begin in the summer of 2022 and consist of the segment of roadway between County Road 101 and the Lawndale Lane/Peony Lane intersection.
