State Patrol: Crash in Brooklyn Center Caused by Motorcyclist Fleeing Trooper
The Minnesota State Patrol says a motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening after he was struck by another vehicle while fleeing from state troopers.
According to the State Patrol:
A trooper tried to pull over a man on a Harley-Davidson who they say was traveling 107 miles per hour on northbound Interstate Highway 94 in Brooklyn Center. The motorcycle exited onto eastbound Interstate Highway 694 where the rider crossed traffic and was struck. The rider was ejected and did not survive the crash.
The State Patrol identified the motorcyclist on Monday as 31-year-old Caylin James Svendahl of South St. Paul. The driver of the other vehicle, a 52-year-old woman from White Bear Lake, was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
The crash shut down I-694 for several hours Sunday night.
