Spring Babies Petting Zoo Returns to Brooklyn Park in New Location

4:13 PM | Monday, March 23, 2026

Nature’s cutest baby animals are coming to a farm field in Brooklyn Park — and families will have a chance to see them up close.

Spring Babies, a petting zoo hosted by the Twin Cities Festival, will open on April 11.

“It is like photo-ops galore, is the best way to put it,” said Bear Bouwman, general manager of Twin Cities Festival. “I mean, your kids are going to be holding baby animals. It’s a great place for dates also as well, so couples coming out to hold animals.”

The zoo will offer baby rabbits, goats, sheep, llamas and kangaroos for kids and other visitors to hold and pet.

There will also be adult llamas, alpacas, cows and a miniature donkey available for feeding.

For the first time in 17 years, it will be hosted in a new spot at 8901 101st Ave. N. That’s just off Highway 169 and 101st Avenue, near the Grassfield Radio Control Club.

Spring Babies, a petting zoo hosted by the Twin Cities Festival, will open on April 11.

Organizers had to move the festival after developers started construction on their previous location at Highway 169 and 109th Avenue.

They’re now hoping this new home can continue to host Spring Babies, as well as their fall Harvest Festival and corn maze.

“As far as the future, we don’t really know what’s to be held. I mean, it is land in Brooklyn Park, farm land that will probably be developed some day,” Bouwman said. “So we don’t really know how long we’re going to be here, but we’re going to be here as long as possible.”

Along with animals, Spring Babies offers inflatables, a gunny sack slide, a straw bale maze, a corn pit and food trucks.

Tickets are $18, and are available online or at the gate. Kids younger than 23 months old get in for free.

The event is open for the following weekends:

  • April 11, 12
  • April 18, 19
  • April 25, 26
  • May 2, 3
