Shedding Light on Homelessness, Minnesota Efforts to Combat a Growing Crisis
Brooklyn Center resident Gino Fiebelkorn has experienced and overcome homelessness. He explains one of the most difficult aspects of it. “The shame. The shame that goes with it. The shame to walk into a coffee shop, any Starbucks U.S.A. to know that I need to use the Internet, but I can’t even buy a coffee,” he said. Meanwhile, 2ndChanceProject, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit, is working to help the homeless at Radisson Hotel Brooklyn Center after the hotel received a contract from the state to provide assistance.
Interfaith Outreach Launches “Be Like Bob” Sleep Out Campaign
Interfaith Outreach’s largest campaign will be mostly virtual this year, but the nonprofit is planning several activities to inspire and engage. Its “Be Like Bob Challenge” encourages people to be like the Sleep Out campaign’s founder, Bob Fisher.
