Senior Living Communities Wage Fierce Battle for Wii Bowling Trophy
Bowling bragging rights were up for grabs between two local senior communities on Thursday in Plymouth.
For the first time, seniors from Trillium Woods in Plymouth and Saint Therese at Oxbow Lake in Brooklyn Park competed against one another in a Nintendo Wii bowling competition.
It was pretty serious competition.
Organizers say the competitors have been practicing almost every day for the past month.
“The competitive spirit never dies,” said Samantha Lefaive, fitness center manager at Trillium Woods, where the competition was held. “I think it’s with them their whole entire life. And we try to find ways in which we can be competitive and not have to worry as much about the athleticism.”
There was even a traveling trophy at stake.
The event is expected to turn into a quarterly competition. Trillium Woods residents plan to travel next to Saint Therese’s home turf.
