Sen. Ann Rest Attends Joe Mauer HOF Induction
Over the weekend, Minnesota Twins legend Joe Mauer was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
A New Hope lawmaker was there to see it in person.
State Sen. Ann Rest traveled to Cooperstown, N.Y., to witness Sunday’s ceremony.
Rest is a lifelong baseball fan whose Twins fandom dates back to when they were the Washington Senators. As a fan of the Twins, and Mauer, she felt compelled to personally witness the momentous occasion.
“It was just a wonderful experience to be part of American baseball history, and Joe Mauer is the best,” said Rest.
Mauer is the fourth St. Paul native to be inducted into Cooperstown, joining Dave Winfield, Paul Molitor and Jack Morris.
