See Maple Grove Art Center’s “The Monster Show” Through Nov. 6
Every other year the Maple Grove Arts Center features “The Monster Show” which is comprised of artwork on a variety of mediums.
“It can just be whatever moves you at the time, whatever you think of that can be a monster,” said Teri Iverson, gallery director.
Monsters can be sweet or scary. They can be imaginary or real, like one artist’s depiction of a migraine headache.
“It’s what they feel in their head, in their minds and brains. That’s what goes on canvas. That was their monster,” said Iverson.
Iverson says she loves that in this show there are no limitations. There’s artwork the size of a coaster and artwork that’s a costume too.
“Whatever’s going on in your life at the time, it’s like a glimpse into that. It’s amazing what you come up with,” said Iverson.
You can see the show at the Maple Grove Arts Center through Nov. 6. Learn more here.
