Robbinsdale’s 98-Year-Old Historic Library Gets Something New
It was a celebration of history in Robbinsdale on Wednesday. It was also a celebration of something new.
The Robbinsdale Historical Society and the Robbin Gallery celebrated a new sign at their building, which is located in the historic Robbinsdale Library building.
“It’s just an amazing building,” said Jeanne Johnson, gallery director of the Robbin Gallery. “We love the architecture, the whole feel of what this building is about.”
The building turns 100 years old in 2026. The new sign, which says “Historic Robbinsdale Public Library,” replicates the original.
Johnson said the previous sign was removed due to wear-and-tear and had lasted about 30 years.
The building is also indeed historic. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
