Robbinsdale Wants to Clean out Cattails on South Twin Lake
Robbinsdale is working on a project to clear out cattails on South Twin Lake and Ryan Lake. Initial bids came in too high to clear out the invasive species, so they city is investigating other options.
City engineer Richard McCoy says the cattails have gotten to be so thick, they impede the flow of water and it could be a problem if there’s a large storm.
Bids to remove the invasive species came in three times higher than expected, so the city council voted to reject all bids. They will work with adjoining communities and watershed districts to see what can be done to remove them.
