Robbinsdale Students Learn College Readiness
Robbinsdale Area Schools and Hennepin Tech received a $10,000 grant for a first-of-its-kind program that will help students with the literacy skills they need for college. Nineteen students enrolled in the course at Hennepin Tech’s Brooklyn Park campus.
“It has prepared me. It’s made me comfortable and I’m really ready to do it. I’m really excited now,” said Tatiana Hall, a student enrolled in the course. “I feel like if anyone else has this opportunity, they should take it.”
The students earn high school credit as well as credit for college through the PSEO program. The course is co-taught by an HTC instructor and a teacher from Robbinsdale Academy/Highview.
“I had a lot of trouble reading and taking notes and I think this class helped me with that,” said Ethan Vang.
