Robbinsdale Police Release Dashcam Video of Train-vs.-Vehicle Collision
The Robbinsdale Police Department released dashcam video of Monday morning’s train-versus-vehicle collision.
The video was taken by a Minnesota State Patrol squad car headed toward the 42nd Avenue crossing in Robbinsdale, where a Toyota RAV4 was struck.
According to Robbinsdale police, investigators believe the driver didn’t see the warning lights or hear the train horn at the crossing, which does not have stop arms.
The train was not traveling at high speeds, police said, when it struck the Toyota RAV4 and pushed the vehicle some 130 yards down the tracks.
A 69-year-old female driver and her 88-year-old female passenger were in the vehicle. Their identifies have not been released. Both were hospitalized with serious injuries but are expected to survive the crash.
