Robbinsdale Police Don Pink Patches for Breast Cancer Awareness
Police in Robbinsdale will wear a new fashion accessory this month to support a good cause.
During the month of October, many of the officers in Robbinsdale will wear pink patches in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Robbinsdale Police Officer Association purchased a number of the patches for officers to wear if they so choose.
This is the first time members of the department have worn the special patches. The hope is that it will become an annual tradition.
“The patches are meant to support those who are dealing with breast cancer, those who have loved-ones that are dealing with it, and it’s in honor of those that have died from it and have had that battle and survived,” said Robbinsdale Police Capt. John Elder.
Members of the public can also buy these patches from the Robbinsdale Police Department. The patches are $10 each, and all proceeds will benefit breast cancer research.
