Robbinsdale Passes Licensing, Zoning for Sale of THC Products
The city of Robbinsdale approved creating licensing and zoning regulations for the legal sale of products containing THC at the council meeting on Tuesday night. They also lifted the temporary moratorium on the sale of THC products, which will be lifted 30 days after Tuesday night’s meeting, on Feb. 16.
Councils in the suburbs enacted temporary moratoriums late last summer after the state legalized the sale of products containing THC, so they could pass licensing and zoning regulations for the businesses.
Council member Sheila Webb said the process allowed the council time to gather feedback from people in the community.
“That’s what we want to hear. We wanted to hear from people,” said Webb. “Although I know people weren’t happy initially. But the process was for the people. It was to hear what you had to say.
The city says they do not have any businesses yet who have started the process to obtain a license.
