Robbin Gallery’s “Holding Light” on Exhibit Until Jan. 29
As we move through January, believe it or not, the days are getting longer.
But, should the winter blues be bumming you out the Robbin Gallery has a bright and vibrant exhibition called “Holding Light”.
The exhibit features the artwork of Mary Simon-Casati and Emily Quandahl
The work of Mary Simon-Casati and Emily Quandahl are different and you’ll be able to differentiate between the two as you go along.
Emily Quandahl is an abstract artist and muralist. Her artist statement for the show says, “as an artist, my work visualizes the experience of learning through practice and all of the chaotic energy that comes with it. I find harmony between sharp lines and organic unplanned movement in which there are layers of imperfection and experience underneath what makes it to the gallery walls. Through my work, I aim to create an immersive experience for the viewer to see the world through my artistic learning lens, finding comfort and curiosity in the light I see.”
Also displaying work is Mary Simon-Casati. Simon-Casati said in her artist statement, “I create mixed media paintings and installations by distilling and abstracting fleeting experiences that are not easily defined but sensed. using paint, paper, wood, glass, light, shadow and handmade tools. My work implies a place, holds an experience, and draws attention to the complexity of unseen forces.”
The works complement each other on the walls of Robbin Gallery and will be on display through January 29th.
