Renovations Begin at Brooklyn Park Apartments
Extensive renovations will soon begin on two apartment buildings that serve a need for low-income housing.
One of the buildings is the 110-unit Brooks Landing Apartments. The seven-story building, located at 5825 74th Ave. N., serves seniors and people with disabilities. Rehab work will include window, kitchen, lighting and security improvements.
The other place getting renovated is Brook Gardens Apartments and Townhomes, located at 5550 69th Ave. N. The 60-unit development also serves low-income families.
The rehabilitation of the two sites is expected to cost $30 million in total development costs. Several financing tools are making the project possible, including a $400,000 loan from the Brooklyn Park Economic Development Authority.
The extensive rehabilitation work begins this month and continues through October 2020.
