PRISM Kicks off Toy Drive with ‘Fill the Truck’
It may just be early November, but PRISM food shelf has already kicked off their annual toy drive.
The Golden Valley nonprofit partnered up with Two Men and a Truck this year to collect new, unwrapped toys for their Holiday Toy Shoppe. The trucks will be parked at five community locations during November. Frankie’s Chicago Style Pizza in New Hope was the first stop on Nov. 11.
“This is absolutely one of my favorite ways to give back,” said Sally Flinck, with Two Men and a Truck, Twin Cities. “Many kids may not have experienced a Christmas before, so they don’t even know what to expect and for us to be able to provide that for families and show them.”
Flinck says the company also plans a food drive later in the holiday season.
Other Fill the Truck opportunities this month include:
- Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Liberty Packaging, 870 Louisiana Ave. S, Golden Valley
- Nov. 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Liberty Diversified International, 5600 U.S. 169, New Hope
- Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Golden Age Design, 4157 West Broadway Ave, Robbinsdale
- Nov. 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Minneapolis Regional Chamber, 8085 Wayzata Blvd, Golden Valley
PRISM is collecting gifts for every age, but emphasizes if you want to give where there’s the most need, consider donating a gift for a teenager.
