‘Pray for Ukraine’ Popular Request at Maple Grove Ash Wednesday Service
At Maple Grove Lutheran Church’s drive-through Ash Wednesday service, Pastor Chris Chiles says many people requested prayer for Ukraine. She prayed for the people of Ukraine and Russia and for God to work to end the violence.
The drive-through service was actually started pre-pandemic as a way for people to fit faith into their busy lives. Maple Grove Lutheran Church is located at the intersection of Elm Creek Boulevard and County Road 30.
“There are several people who have mentioned today that they haven’t been in their sanctuary since the pandemic began, so it’s really hard to lose community,” said Pastor Chiles. “This is such a special day of connection.”
