Police Use Drone To Help Catch Fleeing Suspects in Brooklyn Park
Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park police worked together Monday night to arrest two suspects accused of fleeing police.
Brooklyn Park police were initially called to the area of 73rd and Boone avenues shortly after 11:40 p.m. Monday to help search for a vehicle that fled from Maple Grove. As officers responded they learned of a 911 call from a resident who spotted two suspicious people in nearby residential back yards in the 7700 block of Aquila Ave. N.
A search of the area located the vehicle that fled from Maple Grove police. Brooklyn Park police then deployed a drone that helped locate two suspects, who were both arrested.
Upon taking the suspects into custody, officers recovered a handgun and “a substantial quantity of narcotics,” read a release from Brooklyn Park police.
The two suspects were subsequently transferred to the custody of Maple Grove police to face “numerous charges,” police said.
Charges in the case were pending Tuesday afternoon.
