Police: Shots Fired During Large Disturbance at Noble Sports Park
Brooklyn Park police responded late Friday night to a large gathering of people causing a disturbance at Noble Sports Park that police say resulted in gunfire.
According to Brooklyn Park police, officers arrived at about 9:20 p.m. at the park, located in the 4700 block of Oak Grove Parkway. Shortly after arriving, police say they heard shots fired.
Approximately 400 people had gathered at the park, police said.
As officers moved in to disperse the group, police say people started running from the park.
During the response, Brooklyn Park police say they recovered a large amount of shell casings along with several vehicles that were hit by gunfire.
Police say several people suffered minor injuries from the gunfire.
Multiple neighboring police agencies helped Brooklyn Park police clear the park.
As CCX News previously reported, large gatherings causing disturbances have been a problem throughout the summer for northwest metro police departments.
