Police Investigate Contractor Death in Osseo
Osseo police were called out to a welfare check on a contractor at a home in the 300 block of 2nd Street NE on Saturday.
Officers arrived at the house shortly after 8 p.m. and found a deceased man at the “bottom of a deep shaft” inside the building.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is determining the direct cause of death, but Osseo police say the incident appears to be “accidental” and there’s no threat to the public. The man’s identity has not yet been released.
Besides the Osseo Police Department, the Osseo Fire Department, Edina Fire Department Recovery Team, and the Hennepin County Crime Lab Unit were called in to assist with the incident.
