Police: Driver Intentionally Crashes Into River, Attacks Officers
A man intentionally drove his vehicle into the Mississippi River, then later attacked officers, according to an alert released by Brooklyn Park police.
The incident happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. Monday near the 10500 block of West River Road.
“Bystanders were able to help the male driver get out of the vehicle and move him to shore,” police said.
Brooklyn Park police say officers began doing an assessment of the driver when he attacked the officers and attempted to disarm one.
According to police, the driver was arrested for felony crimes and booked into custody.
No one was injured in the incident. Police are continuing to investigate.
