Police Arrest Taxi Cab Driver Accused of Firing Shots
Brooklyn Park police have arrested a taxi cab driver following shooting incident Wednesday night.
Police were called at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of gun shots fired in the 8100 block of Zenith Court North. A 911 caller reported a driver of a 10/10 Taxi fired a gun at other people after getting into some sort of altercation. Brooklyn Park police eventually found the taxi involved and made an arrest. Police are still looking for the weapon.
“There was a period of time between the actual shooting and the time the officers located the suspect, the cab driver, so we don’t know where he went exactly and where the weapon could be,” said Brooklyn Park Deputy Chief Mark Bruley.
Nobody was injured. Police are trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
“It’s not typical involving a cab driver, but cab drivers are human beings just like every other profession and somehow this altercation took place between this group of people and the driver of the cab we suspect of shooting a gun,” said Bruley.
Charges against the driver are pending.
