Plymouth’s CFMoto Powersports Plans to Double Workforce
CFMoto, a high-end motorcycle and ATV manufacturer, plans to significantly expand its presence in Plymouth, where the company has its U.S. headquarters.
The company, which was founded in China, is planning to relocate within Plymouth and grow its workforce.
CFMoto currently leases space at Plymouth Ponds Business Park in the southwest part of the city. Its currently constructing a new 100,000-square-foot facility in the northeast part of Plymouth near Schmidt Lake Road and Highway 169.
According to city council documents, CFMoto plans to increase its Plymouth workforce from 40 to more than 80 employees within three years. The new positions will be approximately $39 an hour, the documents show.
The powersports manufacturer is seeking state job funds through the Department of Employment and Economic Development’s Minnesota Investment Fund (MIF) loan program to help with the expansion. According to city documents, CFMoto is eligible for a MIF loan of up to $340,000.
