Plymouth Woman Killed in Crash on Hwy 169
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the woman killed in a crash Sunday evening on Highway 169 in Plymouth.
Cristina Restrepo, 40, of Plymouth died of multiple blunt force injuries, the medical examiner said.
The Minnesota State Patrol says traffic was slowing on 169, just north of Highway 55, due to a separate accident, when a Ford Econoline box truck slammed into the back of Restrepo’s Nissan Altima, pushing her vehicle into a Chevrolet Tahoe ahead of it. The crash happened shortly before 5:15 p.m. Sunday, shutting down southbound traffic near the crash site for several hours.
Restrepo was rushed to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale where she was pronounced dead.
The State Patrol says three others, including the driver of the truck, identified as 40-year-old Pheng Yang of Brooklyn Park, suffered non-life threatening injuries. The other two treated for injuries were occupants of the Chevrolet Tahoe, a 41-year-old driver from Minneapolis and his 13-year-old passenger. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to a State Patrol incident report.
According to her Facebook page, Restrepo worked as a hair stylist and makeup artist, most recently at Pura Salon in Plymouth.
