Plymouth READS Kicks off with Kites
The Plymouth Library will rally readers this spring around the book “Virgil Wander” by Leif Enger. This week the library kicked off two months of Plymouth READS events with a kite display by “Mr. Kite Man” Dave Herzig.
Herzig is a member of the Minnesota Kite Society. He hung an interesting kite display from the ceiling of the Plymouth library. Some of the kites are 40 feet long.
“We were after a variety of kites,” explained Herzig, who started flying kites as a child.
Students can learn how to build a kite with Herzig in a special workshop on March 14. The event is open to students in grades 3-8. You can pre-register for the event here.
Every year, the Library encourages the community to read and talk about a book. At the end of the month, the author comes to visit. You can learn more about this year’s book selection and the events surrounding it by clicking here.
