Plymouth Named ‘Most Active Community’ in 2023 Step To It Challenge
Plymouth residents helped the city earn bragging rights in Hennepin County’s recent Step To It Challenge.
The city was honored this week for the “Most Active Community” category.
Plymouth residents recorded more than 73 million steps during the month of May. The next closest community was Brooklyn Park with just under 53 million steps.
A total of 26 communities participated in the challenge.
Upon learning of the honor, Plymouth Mayor Jeffry Wosje said the award carries significance.
“This to me is one of the reasons why we did the [Plymouth] Community Center because we have an indoor walking track, we have all sorts of facilities that people can use to stay healthy, trying to stay healthy longer and stay active as they age,” said Wosje.
The Minnesota Twins sponsored the Step To It Challenge. The top individual steppers received Twins tickets.
