Plymouth Medical Device Company HistoSonics Plans Large Expansion
A Plymouth medical device company has plans for significant growth.
Medical device maker HistoSonics plans to nearly double the size of its headquarters located west of Vicksburg Lane and north of Highway 55.
The company is seeking a conditional use permit amendment from the city to move into three adjacent tenant spaces at the West Glen I complex, located at 16305 36th Ave. The company currently leases 26,855 square feet. The expansion would add another 26,000 square feet.
HistoSonics has seen immense growth due to its non-invasive Edison device that uses sound waves to kill cancerous tissues. The FDA approved the breakthrough treatment last year.
The Plymouth Planning Commission is reviewing the expansion proposal this week.
