Plymouth Farmers Market Opens for the Season
If you’re a fan of fresh produce and local vendors, you’ll have an opportunity to support those small businesses at the Plymouth Farmers Market, which kicked off Wednesday.
“We have a really full set of vendors. The parking lot will be full, and we’re ready to go,” said Ann Mosack, Plymouth’s recreation supervisor.
The Parkers Lake Playfield is the location for Plymouth’s annual farmers market.
Nearly 40 vendors will be on hand selling fresh produce, baked goods, handcrafted items and other prepared food.
The farmers market runs every Wednesday through Oct. 2 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Event organizers encourage people to bring cash because not every vendor takes credit cards.
But most importantly, organizers say be prepared to have fun.
“We love visiting with the vendors, seeing and discovering all their new goods,” Mosack said. “We have musicians that come, so we have live music. And it’s just a happy, fun place to be.”
Shoppers who participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can use their EBT cards at the city of Plymouth booth to purchase tokens, which can be used to buy eligible items from participating vendors.
