Plymouth City Council to Discuss Chickens, Bees
The Plymouth City Council will discuss regulation of chickens and bees in a special council meeting. The discussion is in response to an increased interest in suburban raising of chickens and bees.
Currently, chickens are considered farm animals in Plymouth and only allowed in certain zoning districts. In nearby New Hope and Crystal, the cities allow four and three hens respectively, but no roosters.
When it comes to bees, the rules vary more from suburb to suburb. Bees are currently only allowed in agricultural areas in Plymouth.
