Plymouth City Council Appoints Two New Members To Fill Vacant Seats
The Plymouth City Council voted Tuesday to appoint two residents to fill vacant council seats.
The council appointed Kimberly Nelson to fill the Ward 1 seat representing northwest Plymouth. That seat was vacated by Alise McGregor, who resigned due to a move outside the city.
Members of the council also appointed Catherine Cesnik to the Ward 3 seat vacated by Jim Davis, who resigned for medical reasons. Ward 3 covers southeast Plymouth.
Both of the terms for the newly appointed council members expire Jan. 6.
The council sought to select applicants who weren’t seeking election in November. A total of 26 people applied for the vacant seats.
Nelson and Cesnik are slated to be sworn in at the March 26 council meeting.
