Plymouth Celebrates Pi Day with Slices of Fruity Goodness
March 14 or Pi Day turned kind of fruity at the Plymouth Community Center. There was apple, cherry and lemon pies, not to mention French silk and other pie favorites.
For Russ Clarno, Thursday was a double celebration.
“Seventy-four years and going strong,” said Clarno, who celebrated his birthday with a slice of pie.
Clarno told CCX News he just had one special request for his pie.
“If I could get some caramel on top … I’m a caramel guy,” he laughed. “Ice cream is good too.”
Volunteers like Lois Gaudette helped make Pi Day or, in this case, Pie Day at the Plymouth Community Center a success.
The annual event serves an important purpose by helping to raise money for senior programming in the city.
